    That's the Adam Warren I remember. That Cubs/Yankees trade was a win/win.

If those are the only 3 pitches (fastball, slider, change) Severino throws then he throws the change just under 12% of the time.

I'm not saying he needs to throw it 50% of the time. I'd be happy with 10 %.

But I just gave you the numbers......

        111/(512+305+111) = 12%

Talking about last night. It was his first start, since I believe May. I don't haven't the numbers on hand, but I think he threw it a grand total of four times, last night.

ESPN.com's MLB Cy Young Predictor ranks the top pitchers of 2025 by calculating wins, ERA, saves, strikeouts, and more.

ESPN has him projected as leading candidate in the AL(and cool enough,3 Jays in general are in the top 10).

Britton is ranked 2nd there, but no way he's winning it since it's so rare for a reliever to ever win it. I think it'll probably be between Happ and Hamels.

                Both with 23 starts, 140+IP

                Player A:
                2.96ERA
                1.14WHIP
                2.88 K/BB ratio
                .256 BABIP
                65% Quality Start

                Player B:
                2.89ERA
                1.25WHIP
                2.57 K/BB ratio
                .270 BABIP
                70% Quality Start
                Spoiler

Another factor that probably should get talked about is of course, the AL East & Rogers Centre factor. If the media can say that playing at Rogers Centre and AL East ballparks in general can help a players offensive numbers, similar should be said about pitchers. If batters numbers look better because of that, then pitchers numbers should look even better since they're pitching in hitters ballparks.

Jays now sole possession of 1st place. Day off before facing Astros this weekend, lets hope for yet another series win vs them.

Yeah, but there's one little problem with the AL East argument: half your opponents are Baltimore/Boston and the other half are New York/Tampa. So that's 2 good offenses and 2 dreadful ones. Which isn't terribly different from most other divisions.

What I'm saying though is every year, the media is often like "____ numbers are good, but remember, they play at the hitter friendly Rogers centre, and other hitter ballparks in the all east", so it's a bit of a double standard to ignore it when talking about great pitching.

Cardinals and Marlins tied once again for the 2nd wildcard spot.

We have 4 huge games against the Cubs. Can't get swept and let the Marlins gain any type of lead on us.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

With the Cubs being the best team in the league this season, and Cleveland ending their big drought this past season in the NBA, I think it'd only be fitting if on the Cubs way to the WS, they face/beat the Marlins in the playoffs.

The comment was stupid because he said he would play him if he wanted to. I don't understand why he wouldn't just say "I'm going to try to get him some at bats but we're trying to win". He shouldn't have said he would play if he didn't intend to play him. I honestly wonder if he was told straight up don't play him.

HOWEVER, he's not wrong. You bring up Jeter not being very good in 2014, but his WRC+ was 72 to A-Rod's 58 so A-Rod is still a worse hitter and at DH. Not to mention Jeter is Jeter and A-Rod is not. Then Hicks gets brought up, can A-Rod play right field? Why does that even matter?

People saying the Yankees owe A-Rod... I just don't know. The Yankees should get over themselves and just let A-Rod get his at bats in... Fine. Let's go over the times A-Rod got over himself and put the Yankees first. When he opted out of the biggest contract in the history of sports to hit us up for another... Then we he got caught cheating and lied about his use... Then we he got caught cheating AGAIN and missed a year. This is like a dude cheating on his wife, her saying she doesn't want to take him back, and people being surprised. The Yankees don't like A-Rod and they have plenty of reason to. I understand I hate A-Rod way more than the average fan, but even trying to get out of my own head, I'm struggling to understand why people think this guy is owed anything other than his paycheck.
