Red Sox upset about how they have to play a 1pm game today after a night game yesterday. Claiming it's the Tigers trying to get revenge on them for getting Dombrowski lol.

I don't blame them, it's extremely odd scheduling for a team to play a 1:00 game after playing a night game AND travel the night before.

Generally the mid week day games are scheduled for the sole purpose of travel.

That's not the whole story. They had to play last night in Baltimore. And asked the Tigers to make it a night game (like most teams in this situation do). And usually the team will say fine we will move it back. But the Tigers didn't because day games on Thursday sell well for them and the attendance is good. So why take a chance of losing money on concessions, merchandise, etc. with less people showing up. And the Lions are also playing tonight, don't know if the stadium is close to Comerica or not but just another.

Ford Field is right across from Comerica if IIRC. I understand why the Red Sox are put out, but I think this is more a case of it's August, it's hot, and everyone is cranky. It's a non-story, IMO.

Exactly I can understand where they are coming from and it's a non-story. And it's going to take a miracle to win this game, IMO. We didn't get out of Baltimore until after 1:30AM and didn't get into the hotel until after 4AM. So that leaves these guys with around 4-5 hrs of sleep depending on when they get up to eat before the game.

Oh it's definitely a non story, there is no way the Tigers could logistically have changed it anyway, I get why they are miffed though.

I didn't know about the Lions game but that makes more sense.

The reports I have heard said that the Red Sox called the Tigers at some point (forget the exact day) and asked them if they could move the game back. And the Tigers said no we aren't going to because the attendance to these Thursday matinees are good. And the NFL schedule was released in April so that isn't the reason why the game was originally scheduled for 1:00pm. But it's definitely a logical reason for the Tigers not moving the game back to a 7pm start.

See my post from last night...But honestly no. He came into the season as our 4/5th catcher. Behind Swihart, Vazquez, Hanigan. Due to injuries and ****ty play he is getting a chance to play.
