Re: Post-series handshakes stirs debate
I don't really have any preference on this issue when it comes to baseball. I'm a huge hockey fan and I've always loved seeing the handshakes at the end of the playoff series. Its great to see a couple of guys who faught each other numerous times line up, shake hands, hug and have a laugh. And yeah, that was a cheap shot from Claude Lemieux but hockey is a game that happens so fast sometimes what you do and what you intend to do end up being two totally different things. Just look at Bertuzzi. Anyway, I thought it was cool to see the Dodgers and Cardinals shaking hands after the series but I don't think it should be a team effort as much as an individual effort. If a pitcher wants to come out and congratulate a batter or visa versa, that's fine. But I can't see a line forming on the diamond.Comment

Re: Post-series handshakes stirs debate
The handshaking at the end of a series in hockey is easily 1 of the greatest things in sports i think baseball should do it infact i think ALL sports should do itAs Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

I think the NFL and NBA are fine though, you see players chat after a game a bit, stuff like that, so it's just some effort to show that this really is just a game.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

What's stupid in Baseball is that the trophy presentations (winning team/MVP) take place inside the locker room. It's only the major sport to do this.Comment

Re: Post-series handshakes stirs debate
I dont want to see this. When you lose in a playoff after a hard fought year, you are suppost to be hurt and pissed off. I am as a fan, so think of how the players must feel. Hockey is hockey and baseball is baseball. The hockey handshake is cool but its unique to hockey not baseball. After game 7 tonight, if the yankess lose and choke it away how in the hell could they want to shake hands. I would think they would want to hide in shame. I am all for sportsmanship but the winning team celebrates and the losing team sits and watches it. That will give them incentive to try harder to win next year. Just my 2c.Comment

Re: Post-series handshakes stirs debate
I like the shaking of hands, for the person that said it would ruin the huge rivalries well just remember the Maple Leafs and Canadiens have the hugest rivalry in all of hockey and they've faced off in quite a few Cup Finals. They've shook hands just like any other teams do and they still have a hatred for each other (the fans more so than the players)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
