Where do these Cub rumors come from? I haven't heard anything about Beltran possibly going to the Cubs.

Well I can tell you there was a blurb in the redeye/redstreak saying Beltran is interested in the Cubs and Mets.

Paul Sullivan wrote an article in the trib about Beltran saying he loved Wrigley, thinks the cubs have a good team and that they would be an option for himself. it is all speculation, but they have the money to get it done no matter if Sammy stays or goes. They are sitting on a goldmine and can spend more than George if they want to without it hurting their "bottom line" of making cash one bit. It just depends on weather or not they will step up or be cheap ***es once again.

Beltran is, in my opinion the biggest free agent pick up this off-season for any team. If the Cubs got him that would be absoloutely unbelievable, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sosa hasn't been the same since that prick in the White Sox hat poisoned him with that hot taco.

actually he hasn't really been the same since he was beaned in the head with that pitch last year. Now he doesn't crowd the plate as much, so pitcher can pitch him outside more.
