Ubaldo comes in and gives up 2 singles and a bomb, all with the MLB ERA leader with an 80% ground ball rate never throwing a single pitch.

Just unbelievable. I can't wrap my mind around it. Sports rarely have instances where like 99.9% of fans know what to do better than the manager. This will definitely go down in baseball lore.

Buck Showalter isn't that good, imo. Every manager that's ever replaced him has gotten that same team to a WS, although in Texas it took 3 or 4 years. In NY and AZ, it happened the very next year though. There's hope , Orioles fans.

Turns out, this was just 2nd time ever there was an extra inning walk off homer in a postseason "all or nothing" game.

Just catching up and see that Britton was available...that is beyond insane that he wasn't used at some point. As a Braves' fan, I can commiserate with O's fans about losing a game while your best reliever stands and watches.

Part of me was worried seeing all of these Britton stats, it reminded me of the Brad Lidge 08 Perfect Year, luckily Buck threw it all away.

The worst part of the whole thing is we don't get a Britton Kimbrel reaction GIF.

Side note, I was watching with my dad and he was laughing hysterically when Ubaldo came in. "Buck not going to Wetteland again huh?" Scars 20+ years later lol, gotta love baseball.

I could have sworn that in the top of the 9th they showed the O's bullpen and Britton was warming up (there was a lefty throwing). I'm still not sure I buy the whole "he was available" line...

I agree with Adam Jones. I hope they bring charges against that ******* that threw the beer at Kim in the 7th inning. We NEED to make this guy and every other guy, that does stupid **** like this, pay for their actions.

Ya. I was kinda hoping they actually did manage to find on camera the exact footage of the person throwing it. Public shame them for that.

I know they don't show streakers anymore either, but after its no longer live and they can edit/crop the footage, they should show those people too, just to public shame them. Hope their friends, family and co-workers/boss would all be seeing that footage eventually. So along with getting arrested/charged/banned from games, you get your personal life impacted too.

They did...it was shown on MLBN. You couldn't see the guys face or anything because it was blurry but police have technology to unblur that stuff. That's where I first saw it. Because I had to do some stuff that took me away from the game.

Britton was warming up; I very clearly saw that too. It actually made me confused because I went to walk the dog and when I came back O'Day was in there instead. Britton was up most likely in case Baltimore took the lead. They didn't and Buck decided to go in another direction.

I don't think there's any conspiracy about Britton's health. Buck said it himself in the post game press conference that Britton was "fine" and "available." What do they have to gain covering up an injury? If anything, it would make him look better had Britton actually tweaked something warming up. The more plausible explanation is that Buck out-thought himself and left his most powerful ammo unspent.

I also clearly remember Britton warming up at some point. Sportsnet is re-airing the game at 1 PM today so I might catch the instance where Britton was warming up but I think you're right that it was the 9th inning.

One person has a good pic of the "area in question". From rewatching the video and matching it up with the pic, and looking at faces/eyes, I think there's a good idea who did it

Either the guy turned away laughing(to the left of the guy in the white hat near center of the picture), or whoever did it went and crouched down to hide, cause that laughing guy partially does look like he's looking down, and there seems to be a gap in fans standing there, so someone might be hiding between two people. Or the guy below the laughing fan.

Police are just asking for the idiot to turn themselves in. Hopefully it's them knowing who did it,giving them a chance to do the right thing the next day,but if not, theyll act on it. If they pinpoint the guy, they could also track him via purchasing ticket since people bought tickets online using credit card, so you'd have names attached to seats.

He said he was also warming up in 10th and 11th. Looks like they never even considered him going in for a non save situation.
