Re: AL Wild Card: Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays

Looking at the numbers for Jays pitchers vs the O's, I'd actually be more confident in Liriano pitching here over Stroman. Liriano recently pitched vs O's and went 6.1 with 0 ER and 10Ks. Stroman in his 4 starts vs the O's has an ERA over 7! Should be a no brainer in this decision I'd hope.

O's side of thing, Tillman is really their best option vs the Jays, so they're lucky things worked out for him to pitch that game. Has had Jays number all year long, including 2 straight starts at Rogers Centre giving up just 3ER total in over 11 innings.

If all this does come down to whoever scores last, wins, then I'd unfortunately give edge to the O's. Lets just hope the Jays break out and this group of vets in the lineup can step up and start hitting like they did earlier on.

The weak spot is some of the bullpen but it's a slightly better pen IMO than last year's.
I thought it was just between Stroman and Liriano?

It is, but the Jays will probably have Happ, and whoever doesn't get chosen in the pen just in case.

Liriano makes the most sense imo, for the jays.

Obviously this game can go either way. I just like Baltimore's chances. Although if Ubaldo starts, I'll definitely lean Jays.

I'd even think about using Dickey in this game for Jays.

ERA around 2.78 in the past 3 years against the O's, never once allowing more than 3 runs vs them.

Just hope Jays can get out to an early lead and keep it. Having it be a close game for lots of it,or worse, O's leading, will be way too stressful to watch.

Think I'll be pulling for the Orioles here.

Never would have guessed that one.

I don't see Dickey coming into play as a starter. Too much of a tossup with him. I don't see Happ or Sanchez being available in any way, shape or form given they just pitched on Saturday and Sunday. Estrada on short rest, yes. Dickey, out of the bullpen, yes. That was all Donaldson that cost him against Seattle so we still haven't seen if he's workable in that position.

I don't know what to think of who starts for Baltimore. Ubaldo just had that nice start, but overall he hasn't been that great. Tillman usually is asking for trouble. He either gives up some runs, or puts the guys on to score and Toronto doesn't bring them in. If this is the day for the 2015 offense to show up, it is it.

I want a 21 inning game that burns through both lineups and bullpens. Go that!

Rooting for the Jays, but I'm also a fan of this years Orioles team.
Since the Tigers are out, it's going to be fun just sitting back and watching what I hope to be is a great ball game.

Marcus Stroman gets the ball per Ross Atkins.

Nothing wrong with Stroman in a game like this but......he hasn't done good vs the O's at all. Liriano would've been a better choice to pick in this situation. I'm sure if O's could pick 1 starter on Jays to face, Stroman would've been that guy because of how hard they've hit him this year.
