I dont mind DJ, but I would love to see Hawk and Stone, but he'll probably go somewhere on the east coast.

I am just mad cause I loved Steve and he was with the Cubs for so long. I will find out how spoiled I was.
Greg Brown would've been the guy all gung-ho on the smallest plays and with all the "catch phrases". He was very energetic in the broadcast booth, but not always at the right time IMO. The other broadcasters were Bob Walk, Steve Blass and Lanny Frattare. Frattare has been with the team for 20+ years and Blass/Walk are both former ballplayers. Walk is pretty good and gives great insight. Blass is also good IMO.

I give Stone credit for being critical of the way the Cubs played down the stretch, apparently, the Tribune company did not like that.

Thanks alot Tribune Company scum, you drove away maybe the best color man in sports. I'm sure the next guy will do a great job at what Stone couldn't do, and thats kissing your team's *** when they don't deserve it. In this day and age of broadcasting that caters to the stupid and acts like fans have never seen the sport before, the Cubs had a man that could tell you what was going to happen before it happened, and then tell you why. Now we'll get a Rick Sutcliff type who will insult your intelligence by telling you every coach is awesome and every player is awesome, blah blah blah.
Rick was a great pitcher, so I forgive him

Ditto. This is a dark day in the history of Cubs Nation. For all the bad years they had, at least they had Steve and Harry. Steve is without peer and simply cannot be replaced. Ive wondered if Grace would enter the equation but Im not too warm to this. Chip was an absolute tool though. BTW, the pbp guy should be a homer but the analyst should remain unbiased. If I was the Dodgers Id jump at this chance. Its hard to do better than a team of Scully and Stone.

I don't get to hear the broadcasts but It sucks that he leaves because the Tribune company can't take a little honest criticism. I don't like announcers who take the company line all the time. I like to hear some intelligent and truthful commentary.

Hmmm maybe the Jays can hire him
