Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
Yeah his workload is going to cause issues simply because throwing is unnatural. I was just curious as to what markers you saw in his mechanics that would lead you to a belief an injury was coming. Didn't realize you were just parroting someone else.Comment

White Sox have requested release waivers on Brett Lawrie, I guess that gives Moncada a better shot at making the opening day roster.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

I completely agree with you Price isn't necessarily old it's the usage on his arm through the years. I think the way he was leaned on when he was in Toronto after the trade deadline in 2015 may have manifested itself now. Price's pitching mechanics are something that was due to cause him arm troubles at some point as well.
I like Price a lot and hope he can pull a Tanaka but I doubt it. You go see Doc Andrews because you need surgery. Period, end, stop.Comment

He didn't start to hit the wall until 2013 though i'm sure what he did in Milwaukee didn't help him any. You also have to factor in his degenerative knee condition and personal issues as well.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Crazy to see how much people (casual fans) mad Jays didn't keep Price or Leafs didn't get Stamkos. Both now potentially missing all of 2017.Comment

Pretty cool thing Adam Wainwright did for a minor league pitcher in Cardinals camp.

Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
Heyward may be running out an 0-for-13 so far, but in the two televised games I have been able to see six of his plate appearances, and while both his load and finish still need some fine-tuning, they are much improved from last year.
I still have yet to see if his approach has changed, though. We're only talking mechanics, but what happens with him against lefties? I only saw one instance ever where it had been mentioned that Bonds worked with Heyward during the offseason, and the less I see about it the less I believe it to be true. I think Bonds would have done wonders with his approach, which could still be iffy...
... but I am still in strong belief we'll see a different Heyward at the plate this year. I hope that nobody... not Heyward, Maddon, the Cubs organization or their fans, or even OS bases any ST results on what he will do in the regular season. I chalk every PA up as a goal-oriented task, not results-oriented at all. Just use this time to get the mechanics and approach right, and accustom yourself to pitching from lefties and righties. Hopefully it will all work itself out from there.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
