Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
Reading through this thread as I look out my office window at this never-ending rain (I'm in Seattle of course) has made me extremely depressed.
Less than three weeks ago I was at Disney Wide World of Sports complex catching the Braves followed by watching the Yankees at Steinbrenner Field the next day. Both games it was sunny and in the mid 80's.
MLB 17 The Show needs to drop now!!!! I need it....

There's a snow storm in the northeast. I hate you both."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
I see Ryan Braun is doing that thing where he makes a decent point but surrounds it with nonsense.
We get it, spring training is long and for most veterans, probably a bit unnecessary especially if you've been training all winter.
But to then say, "we aren't getting paid by the hour," When there are actual people who do and know what that actually entails...man.
Dude is getting paid millions and wants to compare himself to people getting paid by the hour."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. He played himself with that comment, I don't even know what it means. You're right, you don't get paid by the hour, you get paid by the season. The season starts in March. Tough ****.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
Not a great outing for Adam Wainwright today, just the 10 runs for 5 outs... Luke Weaver calmed things down though by only giving up 4 runs for his 4 outs (8 walks between the two of them for only 9 outs)
You see some pretty horrendous outings in ST, but that's up there for the worst I've seenComment

Re: 2017 Spring Training Thread
Hey, fix this glitch. Donaldson hit a HR and just went straight to dugout rather then run the bases.
Lol seriously though, found that funny since people were joking awhile back about things they could remove from the game for "pace of play" reasons and HR trots were one of them.Comment
