Re: 4/2 - 4/16 Game Discussion Thread
I wonder if he read some of the articles about managers doing things like batting cleanup hitters leadoff, using closers in middle innings, etc and he said, "man, I need to start a thing. Oh, I know, cleanup spot is fantasy. It should be experimental. Swap bodies around. Doesn't matter the skill level. Let's go!"
I don't know what he's doing, and I'm someone that loves that Maddon is batting Schwerber leadoff and Bryant second.

Girardi is really experimenting with the cleanup spot.

Buxton is running out of time to get it right. This is an on going thing.

Interesting perspective on Buxton:

Re: 4/2 - 4/16 Game Discussion Thread
Only thing I couldn't stand any longer is playing him or having him on my fantasy lineup/roster, so I dumped him. The good news is, I plan on picking him up again once he starts putting it together. Nobody will even give him a second look and nab him before me in my league; I'm sure of it.
The other thing is I haven't watched him play yet, so I'd like to see his swing mechanics and decide whether he's worth saying: "Oh yeah, he'll definitely put it together." If he swings like Melvin Upton Jr., then there's possibly no chance that he does. I like what the FanGraphs author said, but he only backed things up with historical players' pasts. If Buxton doesn't turn things around mechanically, he may be screwed forever.
We'll see, but I agree that he should be playing. There are plenty of players hitting around .100 right now with significantly less strikeouts than he has that deserve to play as well.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
