Heading into today's game with the Pirates, the Cardinals are the worst hitting team in the majors, with a dismal .206 average.

    Ouch!

Seriously though, I think the strike zone could be done via computer like the K zone but my...that would be a MASSIVE change. I'm curious whether the MLBPA would even consider that.
No I sincerely doubt that will ever happen. Plus, there's alot of people who like the human element of the game. Not to mention it would be sacrilegious not seeing umpires anywhere on the field.

I give it a 00.1% chance of happening.

I can't stand the strike zones, but they gotta do something about replay, it's absolute trash, and it's embarrassing.

I still am baffled by this. The answer seems so clear. Make the strike zone digital and give the home plate umpire an earpiece where a sound signals balls and strikes. They're still out there, and we get accurate calls. They can still do their business, they just don't have to make the call. And then the umpires who insist on calling check swings without calling down to the base umpires can do so without being so obviously the wrong person to go to.

Quick interesting note: Mookie Betts is yet to strikeout this season.

They mentioned this during the broadcast last night. Mookie Betts has the longest streak of not striking out since Juan Pierre way back in 2004 when he went 147 consecutive ABs without a K.

Looks like Fowler's bat may have made its way from Florida to St.Louis. Two solo homeruns today.

I knew that team was alot better then they showed in the Bronx.

Yadier had his worst series ever, but hey glad they caught them when they were struggling.

Pirates look to be continuing their trend of being swept or sweeping each series this season.

Angel Pagan is sitting out for 2017, but isn't ruling out coming back for 2018.

Seems about right for CB. Thanks for posting this, I was wondering why Werth damn near lost his mind at the end of that game.

Nice series of hits from Bryant and Russell.

Interesting touch with Maddon using a pitcher as a pinch runner.
