So uh, looks like Cleveland is waking up from their season long doldrums.

Oh and in Texas Joey Bats shuts em up with a big fly

What a game in Miami...Nats blow a 6 run lead and Marlins walk it off.

Man...it's incredible how far the Giants have fallen.

Cody Bellinger having himself an efficient day. 2 ABs and 2 HR. He's got 21 dingers (passed Thames for NL lead). Fastest to 21 career HR in baseball history. Very arbitrary stat, but impressive.

Somebody needs to tell the NL West to calm down and let other divisions have a shot at the wild card.

Wade Davis made it very interesting but gets Wil Myers and Hunter Renfroe to seal a 3-2 win.

Yeah...no way Dickey is this good.

Speaking of which, why only 7 IP? He should've went all the way in my view.

                    Random baseball stat alert.

Cody Bellinger is the fastest player to reach 21 homers in MLB history. He did it in 51 games.

Zunino with his second two home run game this month and is having an insane run since getting recalled in late May. .338, 9 home runs, 28 RBIs. Just unbelievable.

I've been fooled by the random Zunino hot streak before, let us not forget he did the same thing last season after getting sent down then recalled. So I'm going to take a wait and see approach on him. And his whiff rates are still relatively high.

If you've heard enough of Keith would say their style is similar? I ask because I've heard Schmidt talk in the booth at times (though never as an employee of a team) and he seems pretty conversational and casual like Hernandez tends to be.

I happen to like that style
I've been wanting the Mariners to put Jay Buhner in the booth full time. He's always entertaining and never holds back, and move Rick Rizzs to the TV side from radio. I could deal without Dave Sims.

Wonder if he'll continue to mash or cool off a bit like the guy he broke the record from? (Gary Sanchez) I gotta say everything Bellinger is hitting is getting CRUSHED. At some point the pitchers in the NL have to make an adjustment right?

Agree with you here. Though he's never really had a streak quite like this, it's still too small of sample size to believe in. His swinging strike % doesn't seem significantly different, but his line drive rate and hard hit rate is up. That seems to jive with what I'm seeing so far, that when he does make contact with a pitch in the zone, he's hitting it hard rather than just missing it or fouling it off like he was before. Should be interesting to see how fluky this stretch is.

Can't agree with you here. He's funny in small doses but I couldn't deal with him full time in the booth.

I don't think Rizzo's long-term future is as a leadoff man or anything, but it's really something to start off each game this way: he's 10 for 23 with 3 HR and juuuust missed a 4th homer by about 5 feet just now (not to mention the "foul ball" thing which was momentarily ruled a homer a couple games back).

Gotta get me some Rizzo Wrap too, lol.
I didn't know that Anthony Rizzo would prove me right in a literal sense when I made this post, but after ruining Austin Hedges at the plate last night, I feel this statement is even more true.
