I don't want to hear anyone talk about baseball being boring...the drama in in this Nats/Marlins game is incredible. The story lines (Scherzer possible no-no, Nats lack of a bullpen, Nats defense keeping the inning going, Scherzer having to face Stanton with the bases loaded, a WP tying the game) have taken a weekday game in June and really made it compelling.

Wow...Scherzer heads to the 9th now losing 2-1. Gave up 2 hits all day, but 2 unearned runs...incredible.

Wow...what a tough loss for Scherzer. He goes from nearly tossing a no-no to losing 2-1.

Say what you will about him but Joe West is about to officiate his 5000th game tonight. That's one helluva achievement IMO. There was a time when Joe West was a pretty good umpire but as age and crankiness has settled in he's become a bit of a joke. That being said, we should at least acknowledge his longevity and love for the game.

He should retire immediately after the game IMO.

Salvie! Royals take advantage of the wild Boston bullpen...grand slam puts KC up 6-4.

Feels like I just posted this, but it's already in need of some big updates...

Jays players on the DL this season:
                  Devon Travis
                  JP Howell(2 times)
                  Anthony Alford
                  Aaron Sanchez(3 times)
                  Darrell Ceciliani
                  Steve Pearce
                  Francisco Liriano
                  Russell Martin
                  Troy Tulowitzki
                  JA Happ
                  Josh Donaldson
                  Roberto Osuna
                  Ezequiel Carrera
                  Chris Coghlan
                  Joe Smith
                  Leonel Campos

lol, even Campos got injured! Injury bug so bad, Jays basically have backups for their backups on the DL.

I think it tells us more that MLB umpires enjoy some serious job security. West proves many cannot be fired even if they're objectively bad at their job.

Seriously Phillies. How do you find new ways to lose every single night? 5-0 lead and now it's 6-5 in the 10th. Somebody please put out this damn dumpster fire.

So pissed that Johnson blew Newcomb's first win. Ya, let's just throw a cookie to Hunter Pence...

...and Kemp ends it with a walk off homer.

Get rid of the rule if there's no penalty. That's all there is to it.

I was flipping channels and saw the Mets and Os both load the bases with no outs in separate games and get no runs at all. No situational hitting at all.
