Me thinks this was supposed to be in the baseball forum.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm probably going to jinx it, but with the Nats playing the Cubs and the Braves getting the Padres/A's I'd love to see us get the NL East race down below 5 games. Would at least make it interesting...

Be warned, that's the at home A's. 22-17 at home vs 12-25 on the road.

Jays DFA Grilli. Too bad he didn't have it this year. Last year was fun having him on the team. An 8th inning strikeout to end the inning was always so much fun.

Cubs vs Nats gives us Arrieta vs Scherzer tonight, and both teams have already scored in the first inning. Basebawl.

Lol Nats have stolen 7 bases already?

                Thru 4 innings?!

Miguel Montero is 0 for 31 throwing out runners this year.

Arrieta doesn't help any catcher out, but Montero is just bad at throwing.

He wasn't much better last year, either. It doesn't matter how bad your pitching staff is at holding runners--a major league catcher will get a guy by accident every once in a while. I will be happy when Montero's contract runs out because he's one of the few bad money contracts on the team.

Montero's throwing used to be okay. Pitchers are a big part of controlling the run game, and the Cubs aside from Lester, ironically, are not good at it. So it's a combination. Miggy's not throwing out 30% anymore, but he's better than 1-32

NL Central continues to spin its wheels as the Brewers fall to the last-place Reds, and the Cubs can't pull even with Milwaukee after getting beat by the Nats.

Nolan Arenado just bunted with a man on in the top of the 13th.

I don't think bunting is the worst thing in the world like some baseball fans do, but I mean really.

Also Buster gunned a guy at 2nd in consecutive extra innings. The man is remarkable.

Nice start by Newcomb tonight. Fell asleep after the 3rd or 4th inning so I missed the rest of it but he got out of a nice jam early with help from Adams and Markakis in foul ground

And I must say Miguel Montero is getting kinda annoying. Bitches about his role right after he ****ing won a World Series and now this, even if it *is* a justified criticism of his pitching staff.

Miguel Montero calling out Arrieta in public? Get rid of that bum Chicago.

Montero: "It really sucks because the stolen bases go on me. And when you really look at it, the pitcher doesn’t give me any time.”

Montero: "It's just like: 'Yeah, OK, Miggy can’t throw nobody out.' Yeah, but my pitchers don’t hold anybody on.”

Miggy: “If I don’t get a chance to throw, that’s the reason why they were running left and right today, because they know (Jake) was slow."

Montero: "It’s a shame that it’s my fault because I didn’t throw anybody out."

What a d-bag. And this guy is old enough to take the high road and keep it in house.
