I could see Taylor falling off as Thompson did...he's hot now, but it will be interesting to see if he is a legit major leaguer. The one difference between Taylor and Thompson, and it's significant, is that Taylor raked in the minors and Thompson didn't. Even though it was the PCL, Taylor's minor league numbers make be believe his bat will continue to play.
Thompson's a lumbering corner outfielder, so he pretty much has to hit to be a productive player. He hasn't, so he's in the minors right now.

Chris Taylor could regress to an average hitter and still be a useful player because he fields and runs the bases well.

Never really thought the 42-8 run from 4 seasons ago could be equalled. Got bested today, and by a team that makes that squad look like a mediocre outfit.

Probably won't win it all thanks to MLB playoff randomness, but man, what a season.

Last night, Tim Beckham hit the 10,000th regular season home run in Orioles history.

The Orioles tweeted out this incredible work that has all the information you could ever want about those homers.

Rizzo trying that bunt cheese in the first inning.

Also Bryant might have rolled his ankle stepping on first, but he's staying in. Apparently not serious.

            Schwarber still looks lost.

Holy Moly WILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a monster!

EDIT: Willson Contreras with his 2nd 2-homer game this week to give him 21 bombs. And Schwarber goes back-to-back. William H. Macy can never leave the Cubs radio booth, lol.

All-time Cubs record for a catcher in a single season: Gabby Hartnett, 36 (1930).

                Well. That might help.

                Contreras though.....wow.

The Nats just won't go away.

And Carl Edwards hits Rendon to force in the tying run. Ouch.

                  Wieters Grand Slam. Bigger ouch.

Carl Edwards Jr. is an absolute disaster lately. A meat pitch followed by hitting a guy with the bases loaded to force in the tying run, then a go-ahead grand slam to Wieters. He's got no clue where the ball is going.

                    Next stop Des Moines!

EDIT: I get the 'let's throw the guy right back out there to get by a bad outing last time out' managerial strategy but this is getting criminal by Joe Maddon. If CJ doesn't get sent down, he needs to be on mop up duty for a little bit before getting into another a close one.

Gotta agree, Goldy is the most underrated player in the MLB. Dude is the best 1st baseman in the league and never gets mentioned when talking about top 5-10 players in the league. He hits .300ish, 30 bombs, can steal if you need him to, and plays great defense.

Well, I see Juan Samuel (Phillies) still sucks as a 3rd base coach. I guess sitting over at 1st base for a while did him no good.

My mother knows you don't send the catcher home from 1st base on a ball hit to the LF corner in a park you really don't know.

That being said..... the WS trophy is obtained by going through Houston it seems.... too clutch too often.

Another blown save by Osuna. Terrible location. He kept shaking Martin off too. Not sure if he has an injury or if it's personal, but I think it's time that the coaching staff give him some time to set it straight.

Apparently the Dodgers record of 43-7 over their last 50 games is the best 50-game stretch in 105 years.

It's definitely frustrating and I fear that if they keep trotting him out there and he keeps struggling it'll ruin him. He's already got a lot on his plate with his anxiety issues as it is.

Fun game in Anaheim today. A's with 6 straight 2 out hits in the 8th to score 5 runs and take a 11-10 lead for the win.

Last team to score 11+ runs in a game this year. Hopefully this offense keeps making strides and the pitching steps up next year. Cleared up 1st base for Olson to get some AB by trading Alonso, now Lowrie has to go to make room for Barreto.
