You have a problem with me editing my post for accuracy? He still sucker-punched a defenseless player already pinned to the ground, then backed away. Cowardly and deserves a healthy suspension.

And yes, so does Miguel Cabrera.

They're talking about that on MLB Tonight. I guess Martinez was talking with Sanchez trying to calm him down and Verlander/Castellanos weren't happy about it.

Just what the game needs! More rules. As if the umps aren't bad enough, give them another judgment call?

Hard NO from me on this.

Not a problem, I specifically said I liked it. I thought the original hyperbole was funny.

It'll be interesting to see the suspensions that come out of this. Should've just issued a warning after Gary got hit.

            No, standard rules from MLB.

Any player leaving the bench or bullpen gets 1+ games. Any pitcher that hits a batter gets a fine or suspension, etc.

Some deterrent needs to be implemented. McCann got hit square with a 95mph fastball on the head. Whether intentional or not, it'd unacceptable and there is seemingly no consequence beyond the other team retaliating.

              Too bad, so sad.

It's an occupational hazard of playing baseball. This recent trend of freaking out about guys getting HBP has gotten to ridiculous levels. It happens. Tough. Guarantee with rules in place it'll still happen too.

Getting hit in the head is an occupational hazard?

Yea I'm cool with the brawl. Let them go at it. Tempers flared on both sides and understandably so.

I'm over the pussification of sports. Football is basically ruined for me now.

MLB already outlawed railroading the catcher. That's enough right there. Just let it ride.

Neither team plays each other the rest of the season either. It's over.

Of course getting hit by a pitch is an occupational hazard, but when a pitcher is head hunting that's uncalled for.

Also being purposefully hit is different than a pitch that misses.

If the pitcher can throw the ball and intentionally hit a player, then the batter has every right to "freak out" and confront the pitcher.

Yeah and if you watch after McCann gets hit he is standing in front of Betances egging someone on and smirking about it.

Verlander and Castellanos were upset at Martinez for trying to "make nice" with the other side, calming them down and such. They were talking **** and then Martinez had to be held back from going after Verlander who was going away from him at that point.

The whole thing was just dumb, top to bottom. Fulmer says he hit Gary unintentionally. Sounded pretty genuine. Still should've been a warning. Could've defused it fairly early. Kahnle getting ejected looked bad because there was no warning but when you send a fastball whirring behind a guy's back like that I'm not surprised.

Still don't get what happened with Miggy and Romine but not that interested in the story after he started throwing punches. After that, all bets are off. Gary came in, hit him, Red Thunder almost hit him with a German suplex to get him outta there. He breaks loose, immediately hits the first person he sees who was on the ground.

Eric Byrnes brought up a funny point in that they hit Todd Frazier for no reason lol. Tense game for sure, wish I could've seen more of it and it wasn't in the middle of the day. Go figure.

This whole thing started when Fulmer intentionally hit Sanchez. Sanchez hit a homerun off him in his previous ab. It seemed pretty suspect at least.

Then Kahnle threw behind Miggy. And then Miggy and Romine got into it. Miggy threw a punch. Romine tackled him. And then the brawl ensued.

There's blame to be on both sides. Singling out Sanchez is ridiculous.
