It isn't a surprise to see Cole gone. He underperformed, was billed as the staff ace and never lived up to it. A solid pitcher, wish him luck in Houston. I think for the Pirates with Cole gone, they need to blow it up. Deal Harrison and sadly Cutch.

Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
A couple days ago I read something saying 135 free agents and 35 days till first catchers and pitchers report. Unless we have a bunch of signings during spring training, that's like 4 signings a day. This **** has to get real soon.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

As for the Marlins thing, Derek Jeter is making Michael Jordan's foibles as an NBA owner look like nothing. At least in the beginning guys wanted to play for MJ whereas it seems NO ONE wants to play for Jeter.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If it gets real late, they just need a manager or three and they could form some type of roving split squad free agent teams.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
Not a bad roster:
Rotation - Arrieta, Darvish, Hellickson, Lynn, Miley
Bullpen - Holland, Liriano, Perkins, Rosenthal, Storen, Street
1B - Hosmer
2B - Walker
SS - Hardy
3B - Moustakas
LF - Jay
CF - Cain
RF - Martinez
C - Lucroy
Bench - Frazier, Phillips, Young, Avila, A. Escobar, Bruce
I think that 25 man roster would finish 2nd in the NL East...might even challenge the Nats."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Hopefully with Bruce locked up me and fellow Jays fans won't have to keep hearing his name connected with Toronto.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
