Pretty much the entire roster has a World Series title under its belt already so I chalk this up to writers need to write about something no matter how idiotic.
Yeah I don't get it either. I think it's overrated need but that's what's been out there. I think they just need a backup catcher that's a decent framer is really all their missing on that side.

Manny Machado is still the Phillies top priority according to Jon Heyman.

Right now the Phillies are 20th in team WAR for position players so Manny would help their lineup a lot. Dodgers, Brewers, Snakes, Yankees, and Phillies make the most sense.

I want the Yankees to get a good starting pitcher or, as some have suggested, Brad Hand to further bolster the pen rather than Machado.

Sounds like Happ is high on Yankees "realistic options" list, but jays price is too high (as it should be).

If not Yankees, hopefully another team out there will pay that price.

Considering Machado's distaste for Boston I would say that's a longshot.

Due diligence is all. Sox don’t have the prospects to put anything close to a worthy offer on the table.

The way the O's system is, ANY prospect is better than none. That team has no present AND future right now.

I'm going to laugh if the trade deadline passes and Machado is still an Oriole because they deem the draft pick is worth more than any return they are going to get.

They've asked the Dodgers about Urias and Alvarez.

                          Via Bleacher Report:

"The New York Yankees have made a "strong offer" to the Baltimore Orioles for All-Star shortstop Manny Machado, Fancred's Jon Heyman reported Wednesday.

MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported earlier Wednesday that the Orioles would be open to dealing Machado if the Yankees included left-handed starting pitcher Justus Sheffield in the trade. Morosi added, however, the Yankees may be hesitant to give up the 22-year-old prospect."

Glad to hear it. Why give up a promising SP prospect (who appears nearly MLB ready) for more offense?

Because he's better to be included in a deal for Happ
