Mets sign Jose Lobaton to minor league deal with invite to spring training.

Now we know where that money we got from the Royals went.

Already bought my WS tickets! Go Mets!

      Sigh....

Exactly what I was thinking. 1st base is crowded. Don't want Hoskins in the OF with the gazelles the Phils have.

            1B Carlos Santana - S

Aaron Altherr can platoon with Nick Williams and DH in the AL. Rupp isn't a bad backup C. Scott Kingery could be good off the bench. With the right amount of development and good management, the Phillies offense could be solid. They brought back Neshek and added Hunter to the bullpen, so it should be solid again.

The Phillies have so much payroll room, they should take a long look at Jake Arrieta. If a market does not emerge for him, they could get him on a 3 or 4 year deal, which means he'd be gone right about the same time the kids get expensive. The Phillies rotation has a lot of interesting pieces, but only Eickhoff and Nola seem like sure things today. Lynn and Cobb are the other two big money SPs on the open market.

Kingery won't be up until May at the earliest. They get the extra year of service time if they wait until May. At this point, I think Tommy Joseph and one of Nick Williams/Aaron Altherr could be moved with prospects for starting pitching. Right now it is Aaron Nola and 4 question marks. Throw Cesar Hernandez in there possibly for pitching. I think Hernandez at least starts the year in Philly and could be moved after Kingery is called up or if another team has an injury at second base. I would really like to see the Phillies make a deal for Chris Archer. Love that guy. Would be perfect for Philly.

The signing of Santana would put Hoskins in the OF.

I'd be happy with 12 wins and league average ERA.

Not necessarily. Roto had mentioned that maybe Santana could go back to 3rd. Franco hasn't necessarily been stellar with the bat.

i think dodgers gave up too much in my opinion. maybe they are trying to shed salary.

and now the braves DfA Adrian right after trade.

It's cap neutral this year, but should get them under the luxury cap next year is what I read.
