I don't see Machado being traded, especially if he doesn't agree to an extension prior to the trade taking place. Why would a team give up the prospects that its going to take to land him, when you're only guaranteed one season?

If I'm the Yankees and its true he wants to play there, then I tell him to agree to an extension prior to a trade or I just wait until the offseason and sign him as a free agent.

Wouldn't that be a form of tampering?

Machado should just wait til he's a free agent if he so badly wants to go to NYY.

Well I didn't mean for the Yankees to directly call him and tell him that "hey we will agree to trade for you if you agree to sign an extension with us."

Just let it be known in the negotiations that you are wanting him to sign an extension upon any agreed trade.

But in any event, I think both teams (Yankees) that want him and Machado would be wise to just wait until the next offseason to get together.

Stanton to Dodgers after 2018 season?
The New York Yankees have been the talk of the baseball world since landing Giancarlo Stanton in a blockbuster trade with the Miami Marlins. But Stanton might not be long for New York. Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe reported Sunday, citing a longtime, major force in baseball, that the Yankees will trade Stanton to […]

Don't see that happening. The Dodgers will probably try to sign Bryce Harper themselves.

They can try, but if he wants to go to NY, he's gunna go to NY. Which it seems like its between Washington and NY.

The Twins should jump on that yesterday.

Giants have interest in trading for Evan Longoria. Want the Rays to either take Hunter Pence or Denard Span in return to make the deal work.

                          No.

Well, for Span then fine, but we need another outfielder then.

I wish we had an opportunity on Yelich.

The Twins are showing increased optimism about their chances of landing right-hander Yu Darvish, reports La Velle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Pence is no longer an every day OF. You'd be delusional to think his body can handle a full 162 game schedule. It's better to offload him while you can.

He can, but he doesn't. Meaning fatigue isn't the issue, but some weak body spots are ('specially the hamstrings).

We have to keep as many righty bats as we can, and Pence is still an asset to the club. Maybe not as much in RF anymore, but he's not the biggest frustration of ours.

He is expensive though, I'll give you that. But it's not exactly like we're getting a bunch of youth back in Longoria, either.
