Also I wouldn't want to live in NYC what with the new regulations on tax deductions to home owners. Maybe Stanton will live in Connecticut.

Getting way off topic here but a lot of the players live in Westchester County, which is just north of the Bronx and outside the 5 boroughs.

Pay me $300M over 12 years and take $29M for taxes and I guarantee you I’ll be just fine with it.

Pretty confident I’d be content living on $270M

Ok pay me $300M over 12 years and take $100M in taxes and I’d still be just fine.

Let’s not act like the $29M extra is gonna bankrupt the dude or cause him to have stretch every dollar like he’s suddenly making minimum wage

I don't think that's unique to New York, anywhere I've ever lived I've had to pay all three.

I mean except nobody did that and I’m sure he isn’t crying over it either. But even if I had over 500 million dollars sitting in the bank, if you told me I was going to lose 29 million, yeah I’d be a little bummed about. Wouldn’t lose sleep over it even a little bit, but still bummed about that 29 million I’m not getting.

I don't think anyone enjoys losing money.

Ok...it's the new year and Spring Training starts in about 7 weeks.

Time for deals to start taking place!

If there's anything we've seen from Boras clients in the past, it's that the start of ST doesn't mean deals will be done before then. Wouldn't be surprised to see some signings made during or even after ST.

Exactly. $29M is still a lot of money, but it's a big difference if someone makes 50K a year and has a year taken from them as compared to $29M/year over a decade.

Stanton clearly doesn't care or else he wouldn't have accepted a deal to NY.
