Jose Martinez is having a great start to the season, hit his 2nd HR of the season today, 4 more RBIs and average still above .380.

Good start for a guy not many people have heard of.

Something wrong with Rizzo? Caratini getting another start at first today.

It's hard to be at your best when you've had a grand total of 4 innings of work in the spring. If he's still like this in late May then the alarm bells should be ringing.

Or maybe he's just way overhyped

Happ is striking out at a 60% clip. That's out of his depth and needing a break, not overhyped.

He has good tools: switch-hitter, speedy, plus power, will take walks. But, he really needs to adjust to what pitchers are doing. That and he's just an iffy defender. I've been on record with how I thought he'd be a good trade chip for the Cubs, but I don't think the front office sees it that way.

Yeah, I wasn't being totally serious hence the I think going down and adjusting a bit in a less stressful environment would be helpful for him. It's worked to an extent with Schwarber and others in the past.

I mean, name one other person that homered on the very first pitch of the 2018 season.

                  I'll wait.

Good outing for Darvish, though he'll get a ND.

The people who approved this sport-wide, broadcasts-wide implementation of a strike zone overlay with a animated colored pop-up graphic with the MPH showing immediately should be sent to the gulags.

It's ridiculous how something that's supposed to show you "where the pitch went" actually makes it way more difficult to do so. Can't tell where the catcher is catching the damn ball because *poof* magical graphics. It's incredibly distracting and busy. It's also even more frustrating that, aside from this idiocy, the current Fox Sports overlays are absolutely perfect otherwise.

Never understood what was so bad about the broadcast looking at a pitch again if it's actually borderline during the stoppage of play. Or just having a pop-down from the score overlay to show an AB pitch summary that GOES AWAY once the information is shown for a few seconds.

I...just...I don't know what goes through these people's minds. If this was focus grouped before implementation, **** these people.

I've noticed this on the local and national broadcasts now and it's ANNOYING. Thankfully Sportsnet here in Canada hasn't done that with Jays games.

When that started I was hoping it would just be a fad. But now it's everywhere. It sucks.

He was a whole different animal compared to his 1st start. In this one he was controlling nearly every count against nearly every Milwaukee batter. Really allows his slider to be a wipeout pitch.

And Bryant is left standing at third after the 1 out triple. Sigh.
