Crazy ****. What an insane game. Incredible pitching then incredible offense and a comeback for the ages.

Last night's Angels/Mariners may have been game of the year thus far, but this one may have topped it already.

I agree. What more could you want from a single game?

        A couple firsts.

Scherzer first pitcher in history to record 15 Ks in his 19 total outs.

Domingo German first pitcher in history to throw 6 hitless innings with 9+ Ks in his first career start.

Baseball is fickle as hell. Thursday afternoon the Braves were riding high after a statement sweep, domination against the Mets and taking first place and coming back home for the weekend. Come Sunday afternoon, and we're about to be swept by the Giants. Not that the Giants are terrible of course, but definitely knocked us down a peg or two. It's probably a good thing in the long run.

At least the Jays won a game today...Except now even MORE injuries are piling up. Aledmys Diaz had to be carted off the field with an ankle injury. At this rate we might see Vladdy Jr. or Bo Bichette in Toronto this year.

Ozzie Albies swinging at the first pitch and popping up to end the game even though Hunter Strickland can't throw strikes. Annoying. Teaser Rally.

Good/bad news about the 2nd WC spot for this year in the AL.

Good news: The 2nd WC spot exists so there's a chance for many teams to get in,especially if the 1st WC seed might finish better than division leaders.

Bad news: If the 2nd WC team wants to make it to the ALCS, they'd have to beat the 2 best teams in the AL(potentially MLB) to do so.

It definitely makes it more punitive for the 2nd WC team BUT that's as it should be most of the time. I have no issue with it.

Ohtani with a helluva outing today. Great work, mixed up pitches well, stuff was really good. Gave up a homer late and then a runner after that so Scioscia pulled him. But still really nice outing.

I see Cubs/Cardinals is the ESPN game tonight...over/under on giggly references to Molina's injury? That just seems like an ESPN thing to do...

Too bad this didn't exist team last time the red sox and Yankees were on top. Looking at standings now makes me remember when it was always Yankees and sox on top and jays as the .500 team in 3rd, and rays and O's battling for 4th.

Before season began you knew things would go that way.

To no one in particular: I think Tito mismanaged today's game. He left Clevinger in too long (116 pitches?) then he brought Allen in too early. They have some big bullpen issues (one of which being Allen is probably more of a 7th/8th inning guy on a good team), but Francona exacerbated them. He seems spooked by how bad they've been and that probably explains both bad decisions he made.

I would set the over/under at 10.5 and take the over. Although if we get the "A unit" of Vasgersian/A-Roid/Mendoza they might not be as annoying about it as a Shulman/Boone/Mendoza trio would've been.

Trout with 3 straight 3-hit days.

Remember when he started slow lol.

Looking forward to hopefully a good offensive game for the Cubs. They usually own Michael Wacha. Fingers crossed.
