    Red Sox Sign David Wells

Just heard it on the radio here in Boston. A 1 year deal, not sure for how much.

Gammons is on ESPN now saying it was an offer, not a deal, but theres a good chance he'll end up with the Red Sox.

Whatever. Boomer might be over-the-hill talent wise but he's got just about the biggest nutt-sack in the game. The beforementioned nutt-sack being the thing the Yankees lack right now... along with character, soul and a will to succeed but that's another story...

The point is I think Epstein might be trying to force Steinbrenner's hand and make him over-pay for Randy Johnson in retaliation. This is excellent psychological warfare in my opinion.

Or force him to up his bid to Wells and allow Theo to sneak in and take Pavano.

This deal doesn't make much sense but luckily it's only a one year deal.

FYI: Wells has a 5.00+ ERA in Fenway so expect a lot of high scoring games when he's pitching there.

i don't think carl pavano will do so well in fenway because he will have to face a dh and fenway is a hitters park compared to where he pitched before.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.
