The Braves were interested in trading for Hudson. I hope this deals falls through in hopes that the Braves can snag him. My favorite player on my favorite team, that would be great. If not, maybe the deal with the Dodgers will go through all the way. At least then I can see Hudson play against the Braves sometimes.

I don't want to spoil the party, why do people post things that are just rumors right now. I just heard it's been talked about and that it, nothing is final.

Not if they don't get Beltre back.

I'm listening to MLB.com right now and they're talking to the site writer for LA and he said that's its not a done deal but rather it's more like "here's what the Dodgers are willing to part with. Try to make a better deal" So we have to see how other teams react to this.

What I don't understand is why clubs are always asking the world from the Braves and not from other teams. These two guys suck compared to Giles, and that was the only way Hudson would end up in Atlanta. They ask for an all star from the Braves and a minor league pitcher with an ERA of over 5 from the Dodgers. Just doesn't make sense.

The pitcher they're asking for in return is a very highly ranked minor league prospect. Edwin Jackson is supposed to be a star. Of course, that doesn't mean much until he actually does it.

The A's are also asking the Oriole's to give up some very good young pitchers in return for Hudson. I'm not so sure it's just the Braves that Beane is trying to work over. However, maybe the Brave's GM has made some enemies and other GM's are looking to take him for whatever he's got?

Dude, you don't know much about prospects do you?? Jackson is one of the top pitching prospects in the majors and is widely considered to have ace potential. Atlanta doesn't have a pitcher in their system of that stature.

Not many teams have an ace-caliber prospect period. Scott Kazmir was another from the Mets, which makes the Zambrano trade the craziest one I've ever seen. The Braves do have some great pitchers in their system and just unloaded Jose Capellan (maybe their best) to acquire Kolb as their new closer. The 2004 Baseball America Prospect Handbook has Edwin Jackson rated # 5 overall in the game btw.
