Not many teams have an ace-caliber prospect period. Scott Kazmir was another from the Mets, which makes the Zambrano trade the craziest one I've ever seen. The Braves do have some great pitchers in their system and just unloaded Jose Capellan (maybe their best) to acquire Kolb as their new closer. The 2004 Baseball America Prospect Handbook has Edwin Jackson rated # 5 overall in the game btw.

I would have rated Capellan as the Braves #3 pitching prospect behind Kyle Davies and Dan Meyer.

Jose is already 24-25 years old, and still hasn't found a third pitch. He throws hard, and thats about it. With that said he should be able to step in as the Brewers #3/4 starter or as a set up man and do just fine. I would just much rather have Meyer (who is left handed) and could potentially be ATL's #5 starter and in a season to a season and a half have Davies in the rotation. They seem to be higher quality arms.

Dude, he's still just that--a prospect. He hasn't done jack squat in the majors. Marcus Giles is an all-star.
