In the NHL, we'll see guys born in 2000 playing in the league next season(including the 1st overall pick of the draft)! NBA/NFL it won't happen until 2019 I believe, but NHL and possibly MLB could have guys born in 2000 playing in 2018! NHLs youngest guy was born September 99, MLBs youngest I think is October 98.

Kyler Murray could make more money than his head football coach.

9th pick signing bonus: 4.7 million
          Lincoln Riley's salary: 3.1 million

And for the whole 'he can't get paid and still play football" thing, he can!

          NCAA rule
A professional athlete in one sport may represent a member institution in a different sport and may receive institutional financial assistance in the second sport.
Murray said he's playing football in 2018.
Riley said he's playing football in 2018.
The Athletics said he's playing football in 2018.

He had said before the draft that he would play football this fall and then turn his attention to baseball next Spring. That is why he shot up draft boards...

Gotta think the A's will put a clause in his contract that if he gets seriously injured they'll get a big portion of his bonus back.

Yeah I'd think that's probably guaranteed. The clause that is. You can't give a kid nearly 5 million dollars and not have a way to get that back if (god forbid) he breaks his leg or something.

Why cant he try to make a career of both sports? I means their seasons barely overlap.

Because it's not easy playing one sport professionally, let alone two.

Bo Jackson? I get that reasoning but still...

That was 30 years ago, when both sports were slightly different. And playing both at the highest level shortened his career in both significantly. A more recent example would be Deion Sanders, but same explanation.

Fun fact, Deion Sanders is the only person ever to hit a home run and score a touchdown in the same week.

Not that scouts have never made a mistake but while he's widely considered a very possible Heisman candidate he is not considered to be much of an NFL prospect.

I believe because of his size.

Which is what his position is. He can either go pro in baseball and play his position, or try to make it in the NFL and play a position he isn't familiar with. It isn't like every QB that moves to receiver is extremely successful.
