He HAS to make it. It would be one of the more notable snubs in recent memory if he doesn't. This season is going way too fast but for the local nine i'm sure they can't wait for it to end.

Speaking of the local nine, Ryan Borucki had his 2nd straight very solid start. I'm really liking what I see from this kid and he has quite the story as early in his tenure in the Jays organization he had arm injuries and the first time he was rising up the system he got overwhelmed and had to be sent back to the lowest rung of the system to rebuild confidence. I think it's safe to say, the kid has all the confidence in the world now.

The Jays had an excellent chance to walk off the Tigers in the 9th with the bases loaded and 1 out but nope, they only managed to tie the game then lose it in the 10th....Typical.

Borucki had 8ks today in his first big league game at home, vs the Tigers. Jays got 2 runs on 5 hits.

Last Jays pitcher to do that, Roy Halladay in 98, vs the Tigers. Jays got 2 runs on 5 hits.

I would argue Javy is the clear cut favorite for NL MVP and he most likely won’t start the ASG... I wonder when’s the last time a MVP in either league didn’t start in the mid-summer classic?

Sam Freeman is not who I want to see in this spot.

Javy Baez...MVP? I honestly haven’t even considered him...I’d argue Freeman or Markakis before him, IMO.

Even as a Cubs fan, I don't know how confidant I am in saying that he's a "clear cut" MVP. I definitely put him in the discussion....Freddie Freeman is in there, for those who enjoy themselves some sabermetric stats Lo Cain has been great for the Brew Crew--tied with Freeman and Arenado for the NL lead in WAR (fangraphs).

But how exciting is the 2B "race" for the NL All Star team, can't really go wrong. Gennett, Albies and Baez are all even at 2.9 WAR (fangraphs), all of them love to swing (Gennett's BB% is the highest of the 3 at 6%), and can hit for power. All 3 should make the team that's for sure.

Freeman I can totally get on board with. Javy plays elite defense at 3 positions, sporting a very nice .290/.326/.567 slash. Same amount of homers as Freddie, and 5 more RBI.

Clear cut probably was a poor choice of words. I more so meant his team is going to be one, if not the, best team in the NL when the dust settles. I wonder where Atlanta will be in a month.

FWIW, uncle works at Delta Corp in Atlanta and I went to a handful of games a year at the Ted when I visited. I considered them my bandwagon playoff team while Theo did the tear down.

Quite a game in the Bronx tonight...regardless of outcome.

I thought Judge had it...and I can't believe Minter just walked Judge. Come on, man.
