Re: 7/19 - 7/29 Game Discussion Thread
Diamondbacks lose the game on "strike 3" looking. That was a wild one. 11-10 final. Diamondbacks were up 8-5, Colorado scored 6, then the Diamondbacks scored 2 to close the gap.Comment

Re: 7/19 - 7/29 Game Discussion Thread
Spoiler
"Natitude Headband Day"
In all seriousness though, certainly not counting them out. If they get hot in August, could easily be a 3 way race. Additionally, the Phils poor run differential could also easily catch up with them and they could drop out of it without some deadline help.
On my team's front to show I'm not biased, I'm guessing Arrieta is having guilt pangs or something after his interchange earlier with the team and Scott Kingery (who at that point played all of a 1/4 - 2/3 of a season). Giving up 4 runs after being well rested to a very sub-par team is not earning your keep. Maybe it's take a look in the mirror time.Comment

It's been painful to watch the Cubs pitching these last few days. Chatwood is just so erratic.
Then he gets a 1-2-3 DPComment

They opened up Mt. Davis in Oakland for tonight's game against San Francisco.
The game is sold out and it's expected to be the largest Coliseum crowd for a baseball game ever.
I'll probably watch that tonight.Boston Red Sox

Carpenter got us back into the game, and Lyons took us back out of the game.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 7/19 - 7/29 Game Discussion Thread
The MLB record for BBs by a pitcher in a season is held by Amos Rusie. He had 289 BBs in 548.2 IP for the 1890 NY Giants. I don't think Chatwood will challenge that.
Since the AL/NL merger, Bob Feller leads with 208 BBs in 1939. I don't think Chatwood will get there either.
In terms of rate statistics, Tommy Byrne's 8.22 BB/9 for the 1949 New York Yankees is a possibility. Chatwood is sitting at 7.96 BB/9 after today.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
