    Re: 8/13 - 8/26 Game Discussion Thread

I'm glad to see MLB put the hammer down on Urena. I was thinking more about this earlier today in that we've seen incidents where the team that is wronged ends up getting hurt more in the short term what with Snitker and Alex Cora getting ejected in similar situations. I think there needs to be some contextualizing by the umpires in that they need to throw out the pitcher/manager of the team that does this kind of crap.

Seriously Phillies, how does a team trying to make the playoffs give up 21 runs (and counting) to this Mets team? I'm almost impressed. I think the Mets have doubled their runs scored tally for the year in the past 2 games

11 unearned runs as well lol

MLB is the real no-fun-league. Across the board players and teams are super uptight and just plain stupid with the unwritten rules and "oldschool" attitudes. It's a joke at this point.

Doesn't matter. Mets are still trash.

I am too, honestly. David Bote felt the need to apologize for his bat flip after the greatest regular season HR in MLB history. **** that, he should've launched his bat into the stands and cartwheeled around the bases

You’re joking right? 6 games is a “hammer?”

My favorite stat line from the Mets absolutely crushing the Philles?

Mark Leiter Jr. gives up 4 hits and walks 3 in 1 inning. 7 runs (including a Grand Slam to Jose Bautista) and zero of them earned. LOL. The baseball scoring gods were shining down on him today.

Nova pitching well, Pirates can't get anything going on offensive. Like that they called Newman up.

Didn't see any of Lester's outing, but judging by the goose egg on the board, I'm guessing it went pretty well. Nice to see him perform well for a change since the ASB.

He looked fantastic. The 8ks is a great sign i think. man get Morrow back eventually and Morrow/Strop/Edwards/Cishek is nasty in the playoffs.

The only constant with this Cubs team is change. Never the same result twice in a row, lol. Jon Lester looked like World Series Hero version instead of Washed Up Bum version tonight. Offense was in "off" setting tonight after getting to Milwaukee for 8 runs yesterday, after being shutout the day before. Tomorrow should be an offensive explosion, if I've remembered to carry the one..

Urena will miss one start for deliberately injuring a star player. This is the hammer MLB used.

The Phillies out-homered the Mets 4-3 in their 24-4 loss.
