Cubs tie an MLB record in turning 7 double plays in a 1-0 win at PIT. (David Bote with the 5-3 across the diamond to end it, who else?)

There was the one liner to 2B, but other than that they were all of the "room service" variety. Credit to the Pittsburgh grounds crew for letting the Cubs get easy hops on all of them.

It's 4 starts but holy cow Cole Hamels has been good. I was higher on the deal than most but even I didn't envision ace Cole Hamels coming back.

also he has a 20 M team option I think after this year. He keeps pitching like this you can maybe see them picking it up.

25 innings over 4 starts and he's given up 2 earned runs. I'd say he's doing ok.

He didn't have the wipeout pitch tonight, but he didn't need it with the double plays being turned and such.

Damn. For sure thought the out call would hold up there. Instead, it's 3-3! Couldn't finish it off though and we go into extras.

I'm all about the A's making the playoffs, but if it's another year of them losing in the ALDS/Wildcard, then it's yet another season of them beating regular season expectations and doing nothing with it. Feels like they've had tons of seasons like this since 2000.
