        Catch the Mariners if you can, they're vulnerable, they said. The Astros are too good though they said. Be happy with the wild card they said.

        Yea, whatever! After today's double clinic the A's sit tied for first atop the AL West.

        Go for the sweep tomorrow to take sole possession.

                Although I'd just as soon never see the name "Chatwood" on the back of a Cubs jersey again, it's heartening to see the ultra-short leash tonight. You walk the leadoff man in the 3rd inning? 37 pitches? Hit the bricks, pal!

                When the Cubs inevitably cut him this offseason, they're only out $25M or so.

                        One can only hope. That roster spot could be much better utilized than on ego rehabilitation for a failed pitcher.

                                Cubs offense is 3 outs away from being held to 1 run in all 3 games against PIT. Winning 2/3 is nice, but there's just no rhyme or reason at all to this team.

                                                Gosh, this is frustrating.

                                                There is literally nobody in the bullpen that is reliable. Blowing wins in consecutive nights is unacceptable in a pennant race.

                                                            I literally can’t stand a single reliever in our bullpen. Luke Jackson is out here hanging sliders like it’s his job. I can’t remember a “good” team with a bullpen this bad.
