Certainly starting out with some high-quality baseball on display in this Mexico game....Iglesias loses a pop up in the sun and Carpenter gets all the way to 3rd.

I forgot about the Mexico Series. I flipped on the tv and thought.."why the hell are we playing at old Riverfront Stadium?"

Okay, the fielding may be suspect in the beginning, but Puig's arm is incredible.

Dude is a nutcase, but damn its fun to watch him throw a ball in from the outfield...even when it's against your team.

Teoscar Hernandez came with the good and the bad today with the Jays. A bad fielding play but then he makes it up on a great throw to the plate to gun down Avisail Garcia and he also hit an RBI single.

Clay Buchholz looked GREAT today as well. He was pitching like he was on a rocking chair, so smooth and effortless. I'm glad other teams passed on him

On a non-Jays related note, if I'm a Red Sox fan i'd be VERY worried about the team. Apparently Martinez had his pitchers work so little in ST that they're just NOT ready. This happened with the Dodgers last year but unlike the NL West I just can't see the Rays slowing down very much.

Sean Newcomb ****ing sucks. I can't believe we gave up Andy Simmons for this guy.

Yep...he has been awful since about half way through last year. You are handed a 4-0 lead and you walk the first two batters? You get what you deserve...just garbage.

Touki coming in now. Hopefully he's learned some control.

Don't count on it...have no idea why, but Wright, Touki, Newcomb, all the bullpen, none of our pitchers we are "developing" can throw strikes with any consistency. It's maddening.

Maybe I’m overly optimistic, but the light is going to turn on for Newcomb at some point.

I think he’s Uber talented, but waiting for that light to come on is frustrating as all get out.

This game is a "pace of play" nightmare...1.5 hours and not even out of the 2nd inning...LOL.

Out with the wife. Check the box score for the first time at 830 and see we are only in the 2nd inning and both starters are out. Start wondering wondering what happened to be over an hour into the game, only the 2nd inning and both starters are out.

Ejections? Did the bad weather arrive early?

                              Nope just Sean Newcomb pitching

Neither staff can throw strikes and Alphonso Marquez has a shoebox strike zone...bad combination. I think every hitter has had a 3-2 or 3-1 count for both sides.
