AA has had some questionable moves and non-moves, but the Matt Joyce acquisition has been a good one.

Re: 5/30 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
I don’t care if it was the Marlins, the Orioles, or the bad new bears...a great win and only 1 game out of first.

Missed the finish of the game because I was prompted to do something that nobody else was able to do, so that stinks.
But **** the Marlins.Comment

Re: 5/30 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
I guess MadBum got mad that Max Muncy watched his homer land in McCovey Cove and was yelling at Muncy as he rounded the bases.
Muncy had the quote of the year about it after the game via Joe Davis......
Muncy: “Bumgarner said ‘don’t watch the ball, run’, and I just told him if he doesn’t want me to watch the ball, go get it out of the ocean.”Comment

Re: 5/30 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Sorry, that Max Muncy quote makes zero sense.
If he said "I'm not watching the ball, it's already in the ocean." now that would be something that made sense.
Why would getting the ball out of the ocean prevent someone from watching it?
Of course everyone will fawn and fellate over it because it's directed toward someone the collective body of baseball doesn't like. But the quote is stupid. It's no jerk store, that's for sure.Comment

Madbum was just being a Sore Bum. I'm not the biggest fan of admiring HRs and antics like that but Muncy was walking toward 1st while watching the ball. It's not like he was dissing Bumgarner. The guy just needs to chill.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Odor with a straight steal of him. Rare to see that now-a-days...love it!

It's not that confusing if you take your bias out of it.Last edited by Jr.; 06-09-2019, 10:30 PM.Comment

Re: 5/30 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
And what does finding it where it landed matter in terms of him not watching the ball?
Has nothing to do with my bias. Moreso my appreciation for sharp wit and writing/editing.
The quote doesn't make sense. Like I said, if he said "I'm not even watching the ball---it already landed in the ocean" it would be a billion times better.
But I understand people's standards for humor have diminished.
I'm more than willing to let it be because he's an athlete and not a polished writer, but not if people are just going to incessantly suck it off as some shining example of awesome.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 06-09-2019, 11:02 PM.Comment
