Any word on what caused Skaggs' death?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Not yet. He was found unconscious in his hotel room, and was pronounced dead at the scene when authorities arrived.

If the pirates could take 2 of their runs and give them to the Reds, then take 2 more and give them to the Orioles then we'd be okay.

Looks like descalso is completely worthless on the field as he gives up a 2 run HR

Joe likes Caratini in these spots also. I expect him to relieve Descalso.

Sad thing is we're carrying a 14-man pitching staff right now per Cubs dot com. Apparently that's not nearly enough.

Just to respond to myself a bit here (because that's what the Cubs getting hammered like this does to me)...when Kyle Ryan, Rowan Wick, Dillon Maples, Brad Brach, Yu Darvish, Mike Montgomery, and Adbert Alzolay are among them, you really have half that many useful pitchers. Maybe a bit too harsh on Alzolay, but he was getting beat like a drum tonight.

Brendan McKay's major league debut as a hitter isn't going nearly as well as his pitching debut. Currently 0 for 3. No strikeouts at least.

Kimbrel gets the call and is out the throwing 91 mph meatballs in an 11 run game

Edit: maybe not 91, watching on my phone

Josh Bell now has 3.5 homers tonight (one he took oppo to the warning track in the deepest part of PNC for an out, but I give him half for that).

BoSox are going to turn to Nathan Eovaldi to close out games.

That was disappointing. Only 4.5 up right now. This team doesn't want to run away with the division.

Great win for the Phillies tonight. Aaron Nola pitched 8 shutout innings and Hector Neris got some redemption against the Braves by striking out Donaldson, Markakis, and Riley in order to close out the game.
