If Albies played the Cubs every game, Mike Trout would just be that other guy. Ozzie Albies is on Carlos Lee's level as a Cub-killer.

Snitker is coming to take Newcomb out. He isn't the reason they have 2 runners on and no outs, your dumb shifts are.

That Swarzak trade is working out well so far.

The Cubs offense is horrific to watch when it's like this. The complete lack of ability to hit with runners in scoring position is baffling.

Neither offense looks like they have wanted to win tonight.

Hopefully Snit sticks with Swarzak instead of bringing in Jackson.

Culberson is the best player in his role in the entire league.

Luke actually did it. 4-1 vs the Cubbies on the year, guaranteed winning record vs them on the season. Culberson is the best player in the entire league coming off of the bench. Offense needs to do better moving forward.

the Bryant/Rizzo sequence was the sequence of the game. I've never seen those 2 back to back have those kind've ABs.

Bryant rarely grounds into double plays. Alzolay looks legit though.

I'm telling you Cubs need another bat and it's not RISP issues everyone believes their team stinks in those situations. They need another AB to make sure Delscalso/Russell/Almora aren't playing everyday because Heyward/Schwarber both are above average hitters.

The Cubs have the 5th worst BA with RISP. It's been this way for a long time, but it's one of the main reasons they were 2nd in the league in games with 0 or 1 runs last year, and it's one of the leading causes for their ridiculous inconsistencies this year.

And Heyward has a wrc+ of 108, which is very slightly above average. Schwarber is at 100.. which is perfectly average.

The bases loaded 1 out baserunning fiasco that turned into a double play was a kick in the nuts tonight. I don't know if it would've made much of a difference with the pitcher then Schwarber up, but it didn't help.

I realize that nobody could have predicted all of this, but with Ben Zobrist in permanent divorce limbo (so weird!), Addison Russell continuing to be no bat and all glove, Descalso being a total bust....how nice would it be to have Tommy La Stella back right now? He always had good ABs even when the results weren't there.

At least Kimbrel should be ready pretty soon.
