The Cubs have the 5th worst BA with RISP. It's been this way for a long time, but it's one of the main reasons they were 2nd in the league in games with 0 or 1 runs last year, and it's one of the leading causes for their ridiculous inconsistencies this year.

And Heyward has a wrc+ of 108, which is very slightly above average. Schwarber is at 100.. which is perfectly average.

The bases loaded 1 out baserunning fiasco that turned into a double play was a kick in the nuts tonight. I don't know if it would've made much of a difference with the pitcher then Schwarber up, but it didn't help.

They're 3rd in the NL in OBP% They're gonna leave guys on from time to time. I'd be more mad at the defense as a whole than RISP. When they won it all that was the reason. That slump is a bigger deal.

Their slump this season has been more that it's hasn't been 1-2 guys slumping here and there it's been the whole offense as a whole which lead to the 3 very bad losing streaks. When it's just 1-2 in different periods you can overcome that very easily. not a whole offense though.

Heyward's slash line is nearly identical to the 2015 season when everyone wanted him combined with he's one of the best defensive players in the sport that's pretty acceptable.

Schwarber been a bit better this month. I'm not saying he's a star but I'm completely sold on the bat is barely above average.

Almora stinks, I really liked the Descalso addition but he's been brutal. Addison Russell shouldn't be on any MLB roster. That's the issue.

Teams should at least have some standard in place for moments like that. Definitely should be a bat or even a team jersey. A $15 baseball, often signed by a non big name guy doesn't really justify things.

Both New York teams and both Los Angeles teams were involved in lead-off home runs yesterday.

Yankees, Angels, and Dodgers hit one. Mets gave up one.
Yankees, Angels, and Dodgers all won. Mets did not win.

Also, Tommy La Stella's was an inside-the-park lead-off.

McCann isn't the same player he used to be, but he still has some power. Every time he hits one out he makes sure it is a no doubter.

On the Braves telecast, they said it’s been 162 games since the Yankees were last shutout. That’s amazing.
