Agreed. I said it last week I think, we could have well over 50 wins right now and the division race would be all but over if this team had not played like doo-doo for the first third of the season. The pitching was terrible, the hitting was barely average, the defense was good. We somehow stayed right there with the Phillies. Now the hitting is where it should be, the pitching is still terrible, the defense is still good. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite the Braves. No reason at all they shouldn't win the division again with this offense, but the pitching and Snitker's terrible management of the pitching has done all it can to keep this team down.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Another base hit for Javy after an 0-2 count. He's got like a 1.300 OPS after getting to 0-2. Insane

Hmmm...I seem to remember a certain game at Wrigley last year when the Braves blew a 10-2 lead. Maybe turn about is fair play here?

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
I think us sweeping the Cubs in Atlanta was the payback for that game. Just gotta win 1 of the 4 here to take the season series against them. With this offense, though, anything can happen. Snitker waived the white flag against the nats the other day and the offense still bailed him out.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
Anyone surprised Snitker just sat on his hands and let Teheran give up that many runs before he yanked him? Snitker doesn't care if they have 10 runs on the board, he's making sure his pitcher gets through the lineup 3 times. He is an idiot and no one can convince me he is smart with regards to baseball strategy. He has the job because he keeps a cool clubhouse atmosphere, not because he makes good decisions on gameday.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
Spoiler“Folty went third TTO against the top of the order in high leverage on a night he clearly didn't have it.
Then Blevins faced a bunch of righties in fairly high leverage. Snit essentially waived the white flag in the fifth, and then the offense bailed him out. Not to be outdone, he then he let Minter face a bunch of righties in high leverage. Take that offense! It went south, predictably, and the offense bailed him out, yet again. We won that game in spite of Snit.
The Braves had an off day on Thursday, and everyone other than Webb should have been available tonight. That means he had Touki, Tomlin, and Jackson as right-handed options, along with Dayton, Blevins, and Minter as lefty options. That’s six pitchers — three lefties and three righties — to cover five innings, and Snit managed to give Braves relievers the platoon advantage eight times in a total of 24 batters faced. Do you have any idea how bad that is? It’s even worse considering that all three of Nats left-handed hitters were in ordered between the second and fourth spot in the lineup.
He turned as balanced a bullpen as one could possibly have into an unbalanced Nationals lineup getting the platoon advantage two-thirds of the time. I’m not sure I could do that if I tried. He’s like an idiot savant when it comes to getting the platoon disadvantage. Not only that, he managed to insert our two best relievers into the game when the leverage index was well below average. The highest leverage pitches in that game were thrown by Folty third TTO and Minter facing righties. I honestly don’t even know he did it. It’s hard to butcher the platoon advantage and the matching of leverage index to reliever quality that badly“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Greinke homered off Kershaw. 3rd of the year. Kind of ridiculous.
