Losing Garrett Richards who was on his way to a possible Cy Young to a freak injury covering first base and a red hot Royals team were too much to overcome. People forget that team won 98 games.

Right...I just thought they were going to continue building on that success. Instead they haven’t been able to keep pitchers healthy.

For the fans sake, yes. And I'm sure they'd appreciate it as well.

It has nothing to do with access and everything to do with enjoyment of watching them in games that mean something

I just watched the clip of it. Lucroy definitely wasn't home after that one. He got his bell rung.

Hopefully he won't be out too long from it, that was a solid shoulder to the face.

Lol, dude you are triggered like Brian McCann.

Let me break it down it for you. I never said the Marlins were the better team because they beat the Phillies in one game like you are trying to make it look like. I actually had a specific date in place and a 43 game span at the time where the Marlins had not only beaten the Phillies 5 or 6 straight times at that point, but also had a winning record over those 43 games while the Phillies had a losing record.

Since we are talking about it, let's look at how each team has done since May 14.

Phillies have gone 22-26 including 1-5 against Miami.

The Marlins have gone 23-23, 5-1 against the Phillies.

So it appears that ever since May 14th the Marlins have still been the better team not only in record, but also head to head. Like I also said in the original post, I don't know if Miami will end up with the better record at the year's end, but since May 14th it is unquestionable who has been playing the better ball between the two teams. Not only does Miami have the better record, but they've whooped the Phillies including winning 5 straight at one point.

You can call it a ridiculous notion that anyone would ever consider the Marlins to be playing better ball than the Phillies, but the numbers don't lie. The stats aren't trolling you.

That Charlie throw may have been one of the best plays I've ever seen in person. That throw was on the money from such a distance. Thank the lord Snitker finally made a good decision and had Charlie out there in left over Riley. Not many better ways to cap a 33-16 span since May 14.

I get what you're saying..... but I'm not taking down my Turd Ferguson gif, because, well, it's Turd Ferguson!

Wow....what a dirty slide into Lucroy by Marisnick in the Hou/LAA game.... I mean he cut back to his left like a running back. Rightfully called out. Even worse, could've seriously injured or even killed the guy. Should be suspended. Lucroy was basically defenseless. Hopefully Lucroy is okay.

I'm not going to say it was definitely a dirty slide. Lucroy was moving towards the line to catch the ball and make the tag and Marisnic could have been aiming to slide behind him which would have been the smart play if it worked. Lucroy stopped his momentum and it led to the hit.

You didn't need to explain that .... now please don't disturb me while I'm constructing my letter to the MLB commissioner on how I can convince him to let the Phillies play the Mets in all remaining 80 games.

I'm guessing about 0 Angels fans are gonna agree with you on that assessment.

I'm not saying that's how I see it and I could care less what Angel's fans would agree with. We all know fans are never objective. Look at how some people take what the numbers say when you compare teams over certain periods of time. I was just saying that could have been what Marisnic was aiming for. He also could have been 100% going for the shoulder charge. I don't think calling the play dirty is right, though. It is simply a collision at the plate.

More importantly, James Shields will go down as the best free agent signing in Padres history. Also, can this season please slow down? I'm not ready for baseball to end.
