I didn't see it that way. It looked to me like he thought Lucroy was going to go into foul territory to field the throw and he moved inside to set up a slide to avoid the tag. Then Lucroy moved back to the inside right into his path.

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
I'm not saying Marisnick was dirty nor that he should be suspended, just that he deviated from his path when he cut back inside the baseline towards fair territory where Lucroy was already setup. If he doesn't step back inside, then if a collision occurred, he wouldn't have been ruled out, maintaining that Lucroy doesn't hang on to the ball and tag him out.
He broke the rule put in place and was rightfully called out.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I was responding to the comments that he shouldn't have been ruled out. That I think was the correct call because the collision happens due to him changing paths.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
Maybe by rule it was correct to call him out, but I am not a fan of the rule. I don't really care much for the new rules at the plate. Players are allowed to sit their and block every other bag, why is home plate different? Because Posey had his leg get broken. While the still shots look bad for Lucroy, the play still looked fine to me. Collisions at the plate were never bad for baseball, people just overreacted and enforced change because of Posey's leg getting destroyed. I'd rather see collisions at the plate with no confusion about the rules and the call on the field vs what we have now where players and umps alike still struggle to know where the rule is being broken and when it isn't. Nothing causes injuries more than hesitation.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Not being a fan of the rule doesn’t equate to the call being wrong as was stated and what I was responding to.

The way your post was worded made no mention of the rule and implied Marisnic should have been called out because he was head hunting. If you are simply saying he was rightfully called out per the rulebook then I'll just say I don't like the rules as I already stated.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I just said that the word "to" in my original post was a poor choice of words, which you responded to with your last post.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The Cardinals played .500 baseball for the "first half" of the season and are only 2 games out of both the division and the wildcard.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
Yadier Molina was more vocal about the Marisnick-Lucroy collision than anybody actually on the Angels. Marisnick said it was a bad play on his part but it wasnt intentional. what I dont understand is he (Marisnick) said he was going to slide but it was too late to do so. I guess thats what he meant about it being a bad play on his part. also, I thought the new rule since the Posey incident was you have to slide? maybe I'm misrememberingOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: 6/24 -7/7 Game Discussion Thread
I think Lucroy was in a given small zone and didn't deviate all the much and it was Marisnick that pivoted significantly to his left. The definition of a "lane" is up for grabs. There was a lane to Marisnick's right and he didn't take it. Apparently, MLB agreed and made the call. Sorry, but your determination wasn't there's as they didn't think it was fine.
Stand by your point, but don't go around telling people to calm down because that just pisses people off and has you coming across as all high and mighty. And just for the record, this isn't some bull**** Braves/Phillies thing.Comment
