    8/19 - 9/1 Game Discussion Thread

Coming off a 4-game sweep of the Rangers the Twins play the Tigers 7 times and the White Sox 6 times over the next two weeks. Would be nice to build up that division lead some more. Pitching has been awful lately.

Another big series for the Cardinals to kick off this week. We have 3 against Milwaukee and then we'll have 4 at home over the weekend against the Rockies.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Further details on Chris Sale, per Red Sox:

        - He's done for the regular season, with Dr. James Andrews recommending a re-evaluation in six weeks.
        - He received a PRP shot in his left elbow. Doctors use it to promote healing.
        - Even if Sox make playoffs, Sale return is unlikely.

Have they said that definitively or just not right now? Reevaluate in 6 weeks sounds like they're trying to avoid but still might have to if he doesn't progress

Dakota Hudson with a no hitter in progress in the 6th. Pitch count is high at 92.

(not really worried about jinxes here, to me this is just the Central eating its own as I don't think Milwaukee's out of it it by a long shot)

                    No hitter alert.

Jays prospect TJ Zeuch pitches a no hitter in AAA.

Hudson pulled in the 7th at 112 pitches, no hitter still intact (but he was pretty clearly done).

Gallegos gets the last out and we move forward with a combined no-no attempt.

Grandal breaks up the nono in the 8th with a ground rule double.

Nationals are the first NL team to score 13+ runs in 3 straight games since the 1996 Rockies.

Probably won't. But you never know.

Last time Jays played @ LAD, Sal Fasano and Matt Stairs were on Jays and Luis Gonzalez and Jason Schmidt were on the Dodgers managed by Grady Little.

One of the many reasons I don't like interleague play and would prefer an NBA/NHL style of scheduling where you play every team every season. Or even every other or 3 years. 12 years since last time they've been at Dodger stadium?

I also don't like interleague play. My solution, on the other hand, is for teams in different leagues to meet up only in the World Series.
