Didn't Sosa get out on the DL for like 2 months due to a sneeze?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I can't find the link anymore, but I read earlier this morning that Kyle Crick is having surgery to repair a torn tendon in his finger after getting into a locker room fight with Felipe Vasquez

He is and here is the link:

SAN FRANCISCO -- The tension in the Pirates’ clubhouse surfaced again Monday in San Francisco, this time resulting in a season-ending injury for reliever Kyle Crick. The Pirates announced Tuesday that Crick underwent extensor tendon repair surgery on his right index finger, addressing an injury he sustained as a result

Even if the Cubs maintain their season pace, they'll finish 86-76 which will be one of the more obvious underachievements in Cubs history. Maybe missing the playoffs at 89-73 with a loaded team in 2004 is good comparison point.
I would't say bad but maddeningly inconsistent. There was always one phase that wasn't in sync this year at times. early on it was the bullpen, then it was the offense and then starting pitching on the road. They should be so much better that's for sure. And there's no doubt this year is a million times worse than last year. considering whose going to win the division no offense to the Cardinals but it's very meh. You got decent Yu Darvish, Bryant back all the way(he's hurt now) but majority of the year you got the guy you didn't have last year, Willson back, decent Heyward year that should be enough.

I dunno how you even fix it if they fail. I assume Maddon is not back which I fully support. I realize as a manager for 162 there might be few better but I'm really tired of the wonky sub optimal lineups and bullpen usage. I'm still not trading a big bat like Bryant/Willson. It's not the popular route but I'd bring back Castellanos and improve the pen/bench maybe if you have more money go after another big bat. but that's for later.

I saw an article written today that is now comparing the 2016 Cubs to the 85 Bears...a team that should have won more than the one, but just couldn't get it done after that dream season. Interesting comparison.

We're 8 home runs away from the record.

Aaaaand....Jonathan Villar hits #6106. New all-time home run record, with just under a month left.

I know, "you play until the last out", BUT.....Red Sox down 8-0 in the top of 9th. Double play happens, runner at 1B might be safe?

They challenge it and it gets overturned. Red Sox also have pinch runner on 1B now.

Sure he was safe, but I mean its 8-0 and you're down to final 1 or 2 outs. Anything could happen, but at this point in season especially, win means nothing and theres like a .5% chance of a comeback, let the 3000 fans in attendance go home.

LOL. Cubs game just showed a graphic that illustrated the Cubs are among the league leaders with 10 walkoff losses. We are leading in the wrong categories here.

There's more to it but the fight was over music in the locker room.

Yeah the article I read detailed some of the issues Crick has had with Vasquez. It'll be interesting if he's in Pittsburgh next year.

They just mentioned Jason McLeod given a new title in the Cubs front office. Some deck chair rearranging going on here.

Leadoff triple, 0 runs from 4/5/6. At least two of the three hit the ball. That's progress I guess

Rizzo leadoff triple and gets stranded. This is the type of BS that afflicts the Cubs constantly. Bad, poor fundamental baseball. How you can have so many nice pieces but a really depressing whole.
