I've had had enough of long-term extensions from Frank Wren we've had to suffer thru.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I think the most telling aspect of the Cubs ineptness at the plate is the sheer number of their hitters that have no idea about the pitch sequencing they're facing.

If I can guess the right pitch most of the time, I don't understand how they can't.

When can we say the Cubs have "quit" on this season? Getting shutout against another bad team tonight.

Serious question...does Joe Maddon survive the season? What benchmarks might the Cubs front office be looking at to decide? Remember that they purposefully chose to not give Joe Maddon an extension before his contract ran out and let him become a lame duck, so I don't think we can really dismiss the possibility.

literally all they had to do is beat the Padres and the division was squarely in play. 2 GB while the Cards play the Brewers/Nats and 7 H2Hs like just miss the playoffs I don't care this is stupid.

I don't see a point in firing him with 20 games left in the season. He deserves better than that anyway.

Oh Yeah no way he's returning. I'm ready for a change. Cubs have other problems but he's a part of it. His lineups and bullpen usage is so bad.

He'll survive this season obviously but i mean other than that.

I have to agree that you guys are almost certainly correct. It would be hard to imagine the Cubs wishing happy trails to him with just a couple of weeks left. Then again...if making the playoffs is really the goal and if they're really underwhelmed with the team's play (some teams can get a bounce with a late season change like STL did with Shildt last year...and apparently this year) and seeing Dombrowski just got canned, maybe not a 100% certainty.

Boston's XBH streak came to an end last night.

They had previously recorded at least one XBH in 159 straight games. It was the 4th longest streak in MLB history.

We have played 2 games in Coors and lost both 2-1.

How the hell do you only score one run in back to back games at Coors Field?

So much for taking the series, now just hoping we don't get swept.

Thank you Padres for helping us out.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                            Donaldson > Chris Johnson.

I’d be fine with a 2- or maybe even 3-year extension. He’s turned out to be a perfect fit for this team.

Clay Buchholz pitches against Boston for first time in his career. Obviously they're the only AL team he's never faced.

Big series heading into St. Louis.

Hoping Kestdaddy can get some at bats.
