    Re: Mets and Delgado Thread

I have a feeling Delgado will sign somewhere no one expects him to. Realistically tho I can see him in NY. At least it won't be the Yankees.

When do you all think the Sosa to the Mets trade will happen? I'm thinking not to long after their next new signing of Delgado.
UL's QB Lamar Jackson, yeah that kid is good!!!

          Re: Mets and Delgado Thread

There was an interesting segment on "Outside the Lines" after Sportscenter last night, discussing Omar Minaya's past and future moves. Basically the theme was his ability to connect with Latin ballplayers, and how Delgado might be next, with even Sosa being traded for. I wouldn't have wanted Sammy, but some folks here in NY (on the radio) have been saying to get Sammy, so he can have the spotlight on him, and allow Beltran to operate away from the glare. No thanks... ESPN Insider also has the Mets on the inside track with Delgado, they're gonna meet with him in Puerto Rico this week, as they're traveling back with Beltran, for when he has his press conference in his home country.

I've now changed my mind. It really looks like Delgado is going to be a Metropolitan. Even the Toronto Star is reporting that it's close to a done deal.
