I also think, that the mets having made all these moves already would be foolish to allow Delgado to go to the Marlins if money is the only factor. Being in the same division i would consider Delgado a large help to both the mets and marlins...

    I'm a mets fan btw

the article discusses the Mets pulling out, & that the Marlins appear to be the clear frontrunners & that the deal would be done possibly on Monday..

yeah. my money's on him being a Marlin by the middle of this week.

If AJ Burnett comes back healthy, and Beckett bounces back, I don't see how you could possibly say the Mets have a better chance at the playoffs. I understand you are a Met fan, but lets be realistic.

Adding Delgado, would make the Marlins on paper a pretty good team. Solid OF, potentially top notch rotation, deep bullpen, corner infielders who are run producers.

Lets not forget to factor in the Mets recent history with acquiring FA's has turned out to be the kiss of death.

I think you mean the Mets recent history with acquiring VETERAN free agents, as in Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Jeremy Burnitz just to name a few...

Pedro's Era against everyone but the Yankees is great, not to mention he'll now be facing pitchers as well. (And shea isn't exactly a hitters park)

And we all know Beltran is anything but an aging veteran...
