Originally posted by bkrich83No I am not a Marlins fan, I could care less about the Marlins or the Mets. And I didn't say the Marlins pitching was great. I said it had the potential to be top notch. And you'd have to be blind to see that it doesn't.
As far as Lowell vs. Wright. Lowell it .295 last year with 27 bombs and 85 RBI, with 30 bombs and 105 RBI the year before. David Wright has 260 AB's. Tough to say he has the potential to do more than that.
I hate to break it to you. A good NLCS does not make a player a great one. Beltran is a very good player. But like I said he's a career .286 hitter who hit .267 last year. He's hit 30 hr's in a season once in his career. Good player, but not good enough to carry an offense.
As far as the Marlins closer. I bet that it will again be Alfonseca who has pitched well in that role in the past. Might even end up being Ben Howard, who has a high 90's fastball, and has gotten better control as of late.
Again I understand you are a Mets homer, but try to stay somewhere near reality.
I sure would not want him as my closer. Ben Howard has proven nothing other then he throws hard. Who do you root for? The Yanks?Comment

Some cats on the Met boards are saying they've heard the Mets offer is 4 yrs for 56 mil. This has been weird to say the least. If I'm still in NY then, this lineup might get me to the dump that is Shea Stadium for a few games.Comment

Yeah, I know... NY was on the verge of getting a new stadium before 9/11... I'd like to see a new stadium though... KeySpan Field, where the Cyclones play, is really nice.Comment
