Good news for the Marlins. The NL East should be pretty awesome this year.

both Delgado & Sloan are to blame... dont you think if he wanted to come to NY or Baltimore he would have signed already before today? No.. all he did was jack up his price by playing off all the teams involved. and his agent is the biggest joke of all time... please.. congrats Marlins, you got a great player, but as the saying goes, "it takes two to tango"

That's a pretty potent lineup so far. Speed, contact hitters, power hitters, guys that can move runners. Not too bad.

Decent Bullpen, and pretty good Starting Pitching. I'll be shocked if we aren't in the thick of the Wildcard hunt again this yr.

And to think Godfrey actually thought a 2 year offer at 12 mil was a fair offer because of a softened market..........

It's a shame Delgado left the Jays on a sour note (or at least Sloane give the impression he left on a sour note after he blasted the Jays front office) but Delgado is a class act and I wish him nothing but the best in Florida!

The 3/4/5 spots with Lowell/Delgado/Cabrera is going to be sick.

While I wish that Delgado signed with the Mets please lay off the agent. He did exactly what he is paid to do. He got his client the highest contract for the most years. I think the option 5th year was the part that made him sign with the Marlins instead of the Mets. What would it take to get the 1st baseman from the Nationals Nick Johnson?

It's a good signing for them for the time being, but I don't think i'd have been comfortable shelling out a potential 64 mil over 5 years to him. He'll produce for right now, but I think he's on the decline.

Gives them a real nice lineup for this year, though. A left handed power hitter was something they lacked big time last year.

Yes! Excellent news. The Marlins will crush the Mets, mark my words on that one.

Im not saying the Mets arent going to be good. I just think the Marlins are now an overall better team, with the added power of a lefty like Delgado.
