Yes! Excellent news. The Marlins will crush the Mets, mark my words on that one.

Im not saying the Mets arent going to be good. I just think the Marlins are now an overall better team, with the added power of a lefty like Delgado.

Florida got themselves one hell of a player, but im glad that Texas didnt sign him. They already have Tiexera and Gonzalez.

If the Rangers would have signed Carlos, they probably would have let Tiexera leave (very stupid) in 2 years when his contract expires. It's good that they have saved the money and will be able to use it to keep their young talent and sign a quality veteran starting pitcher (Rangers sign a good vet pitcher? yea right - but i can dream)They really didnt need Delgado.

Wow...as a Braves fan, this signing hurts.

The NL East will be one PACKED division this year, sheesh.

Your getting out of hand now..... I would have loved for the Mets to have gotten Delgado, just for his Offence, just don't forget he's still a below average First basemen.

This is great. I hope this signing turns out like when we signed Pudge (1 year 10 million, which i believe was the original offer to Delgado). Im psyched for the Marlins upcoming season. Losing Pavano hurts (alittle bit) but we still have a good rotation a fairly good (reasonably decent) bullpen and 1 of the best lineups in the league.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

That's true. But I'll take production at the plate from my corner infielders any time. As would most MLB GM's.

I found it really interesting that Delgado will only make 4 mil next season. I wonder if Loria would trade him to the Yanks after next season before the real dollars kick in and then try to bolt to Vegas if they can't get the stadium.

Too bad Degaldo was a 10-5 player last year with the Jays because I would have liked to get at least one good prospect in return for losing him instead of getting nothing.

I have no complaints with Delgado going elsewhere.. however what i am upset over is how the agent treated the Mets.. 1) a good agent DOES NOT tell a team they are out of the mix to ESPN w/o making any contact (just because he was upset in the first place being given a deadline) without discussing w/ that team's management & 2) an agent doesn't send out an e-mail that takes a cheap shot at that team..
