    Piazza mulling retirement after 2005

Well I just read this at newsday.com. I love Piazza I always liked the player he was and I know he's not the same player he was before, but it just seems like he's being treated like he's nobody right now. As a huge Mets fan I hope he has a great year this year just to silence all his credicts, I'm still amazed on how people think he's just not here anymore. anyway read the artilce.

I think the media spotlight being off of him and onto Pedro and Beltran will help him this year.

I hope that Piazza has a good year if indeed he's going to retire. I think that he actually has a few years left in him. Obviously he'd have to go to the AL to play out those years.

Since Franco is no longer a Met, Piazza now becomes the sentimental favorite to "get a ring for".

I don't know. Franco signed with the Astros for $400k. I can't believe we were that ****ing cheap for someone so dedicated to the organization. That's up there with trading Ewing away for overpriced ****.

from what i understand, the "Minaya regime" wanted to clear the clubhouse of "clubhouse lawyers" - which is why Franco & his good buddy Leiter are now gone..

I dunno Squid, was Franco really needed anymore? We needed to develop some younger bullpen arms and he wasn't particularly effective. He will be remembered for his work as a Met, but his time was up.
