Re: TIGHT NL East race going into ST
Until a team actually knocks off the Braves, I can't go against them.
I was positive the pennant streak was going to end last year after losing Lopez and Sheff, but they continued to win. And this year they lost Drew and Ortiz but I'm sure they will continue to win without them.Comment

Re: TIGHT NL East race going into ST
I think this is finally the year someone else will win the division. Even though it looked like the Braves weren't gonna win the division, Drew stepped up big time and they stayed just as competitive. At the same time the Phillies and Mets continued to underachieve while the Marlins lacked hitting. This year the Braves lost more hitting, but I like Kolb as the replacement closer so I think they did improve their pitching. The Marlins filled their one major need with Delgado as the lefty power hitter. They were way too many games last year where the Marlins lost when the pitchers were outstanding because of their hitting like 2-0. The Mets have as much talent as ever and to me their lineup and staff look great on paper more than past years. And like what was mentioned before you would have to expect the Phillies to break out from their underachieving ways sooner or later, and with a new manager especially. They also had injuries last year to important players like Wagner. In the end I think the Phillies choice to not accept trades for both of the Oakland pitchers will come back to haunt them. I think it will go Marlins, Mets, Braves, Phillies, Nationals. As you can see I'm excited about this season and glad I'll be able to see these teams over the season.Last edited by kevin23; 01-29-2005, 09:47 PM.Comment
